What is the difference between a centre drive sprocket and a spur sprocket?
A centre drive sprocket assembly is cheaper to maintain than a spur sprocket assembly.
A spur sprocket incorporates the drive into the drum so that it is one continuous piece of metal.
A centre drive sprocket assembly has a replaceable drive rim. This means that you can replace the rim on its own when it wears down as opposed to replacing the drum and rim, as is the case with a spur sprocket assembly.
