Depaz Rum Agricole Vieux 3 Year Old 700mL Bottle

A well-rounded and complex little sipper, Depaz Rum Agricole Vieux 3 Year Old belies its youth. This could, in part, be because of the small cask ageing process that Depaz Plantation employees in its production. It spends several years, a minimum of 3, in small oak barrels waiting for the cellar master to decide that it is ready to be blended. To the nose, it makes strong suggestions of sweet sugar cane, mellow vanilla, toffee, caramel and tropical fruits. On the palate, there is lots of ginger and allspice followed by an oak spiciness. Surprisingly, the sweetness of Vieux 3 Year Old only comes through at the end of its long finish.
