The reference SPB071J has the Seiko 6R15 (automatic) movement which has a power reserve of 50 hours. This movement ticks at 21,600vph. The watch has a screw-down crown and caseback, to ensure the 200 meters of water resistance.

The familiar blue and red theme of the PADI diver s watches is seen on this new timepiece as well. The SPB071 features a unidirectional blue anodized aluminum bezel with a black insert. The dial has a wave pattern and its color goes from a bright blue at the top to deep black at the bottom. The minutes hand is in red and like all of Seiko s divers, the dial sees generous use of Seiko s Lumibrite luminescence.
