Brass pen maintenance tips:
Friends who are familiar with copper materials should know that over time, the color of copper products will naturally oxidize. The color will be from white to yellow to red to black. It will gradually precipitate the unique retro color and texture, which is the charm of copper itself.
Natural oxidation of brass is unavoidable. On the contrary, oxidation makes the brass more vintage and does not require special maintenance. But if you like to keep it shiny, in addition to buying a professional brass solution or polishing paper, you can also use the following simple daily maintenance methods:
1. Mild soap or detergent: If it's just dusty or dirty, instead of getting dark, soak it in warm soapy water and clean it with a soft cloth. Particularly dirty areas can be gently brushed with toothbrushes.
2. white vinegar, salt and flour: these versatile kitchen items can be used to make pastes to clean blackened brass. Dissolve a teaspoon of salt in half a cup of white vinegar and add the flour until it is pasty. Rub it on the brass, rinse it with warm water after 10 minutes and dry it.
3. Water: By heating a little water, adding 1 tbsp salt and 1 tbsp white vinegar, another natural preparation for polishing brass can be made. Spread the preparation on the brass and dry it with a clean cloth.
